I wasn’t induced with money to join APC — Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke

The former Governor of Osun State, Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, who recently defected from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, swore with the Quran that he did not receive money from Governor Rauf Aregbesola to join the APC as alleged by Hon Adejare Bello, the former speaker of the state House of  Assembly and running mate to the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Also, Adeleke said the former speaker has sunk himself politically.
Adeleke, speaking through one of his aides in Oluponna in Ayedire Local Government Area, said for Adejare to allege that he took money from the APC to destabilise the PDP was a most fraudulent political claim.
Adeleke’s aide, Alhaji Debo Badru, had led other loyalists of the former governor to cross over to the APC in Iwo Federal Constituency area of the state.

The erstwhile PDP chieftain told the gathering in Iwo that he and his party members decided to leave PDP for a better party that had people at the centre of governance.
Alhaji Badru compared PDP with darkness, which could not stand the test of APC light.
Meanwhile, Governor Rauf Aregbesola yesterday warned members of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state against carrying arms and ammunition to the polling centres during the August 9 Governorship election.
He however, encouraged his loyalists and supporters to arm themselves with charms, Bible and Quran to the polling centres, insisting that there was need for all voters to be strongly empowered spiritually before and after casting their votes.
Aregbesola, who spoke during a campaign in Ila-Orangun claimed the PDP symbolised evil and should be confronted with spiritual items for the best to emerge after the election.
This came as three suspected political thugs were arrested at the venue of the rally by the Police armed with dangerous weapons such as guns, axes and cutlasses and handed over to the police.
…Aregbesola retains Laoye-Tomori
Also, Governor Rauf Aregbesola, yesterday laid to rest insinuations making the rounds that his Deputy, Mrs. Grace Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, would be dropped in his second term bid in office ahead of the August 9 gubernatorial election in the state.
Speaking in Osogbo at a programme organized by the people to show their appreciation to the governor and to endorse him for re-election for a new term of four years, Governor Aregbesola said he had since last week submitted the name of Mrs. Laoye-Tomori to the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, as his running mate in the election.
