Fresh Anglehas learnt that the fragile peace that now pervades Ugborodo Community, Warri South-West Local Government in Delta State is sequel to resolutions reached at Naval headquarters April 14 where feuding parties agreed that anybody seen with arms will face the full wrath of the law.
Fresh Anglealso scooped from the resolution labeled “restricted” that the displaced persons affected by the leadership crisis must return to their communities immediately, while the Dr. Alex Tosan Ideh/ Hon. David Tonwe group and that of Chief Thomas Ereyitomi agreed to forward 10 nominees each to form the NNPC EPZ Interface Committee.
It was gathered that Hon. David Tonwe, Dr. Ayo Ayomike, Dr. Alex Ideh, Barr. Maxwell Egbele Okoro, Moses Ajijala, Mrs. Betty Gbubene, Mike Lodge, Tuoyo Ojogor, Elliot Totuoma Ukutse and Femi Wawah will make up the Community (Dr. Ideh) 10-man nominees, while Chief Thomas Ereyitomi group will be represented by Prince Perry Atete, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Mr. Pullen Esimimajemite, Mr. Isaac Botosan, Mr. Alex Eyengho, Chief Ayirimi Emami, Mr. Sandys Omadeli- Uvwoh, Mr. John Edah, Madam Mercy Olowu and Mr. Julius Atete.
The resolution which was signed by Dr. Alex Ideh, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Benson Omadeli and Prince Perry Atete among other key stakeholders from both groups, including Delta State government representatives revealed that parties to the crisis also agreed not to disrupt ongoing work at the NNPC EPZ Gas City Project Site billed to be officially flagged off by President Goodluck Jonathan in few weeks.
The parties also agreed that on assumption of duty, the NNPC EPZ Interface Committee could co-opt some other persons in sub-committees to cater for wider interest.
Speculations are rife that the Dr. Alex Ideh group which appears to represent the larger interest of indigenes of Ugborodo Community will nominate Chairman and Secretary of the Interface Committee, while the Delta State government is expected to nominate a representative to bring the total number of committee members to 21.
It remains to be seen how far the fragile peace in Ugborodo will become permanent considering the political colouration given to the leadership crisis, especially as 2015 polls draw near.
