We all hate on the Kardashian’s one way or the other but the more we hate, the more they make millions. You might want to know how all of the scandals made them millionaires.

The Kardashian’s are the modern day Brady Bunch with more scandals, more businesses and a lot more money. It’s estimated that the Kardashian family is worth $207 million and still growing. Many sources have speculated at the rate the Kardashian clan is going, they could one day be a billionaire family. The family has always had a wealth of money. They inherited an $100 million estate from the late, Robert Kardashian in 2003. Since then, they have continued to grow their empire through their reality shows, endorsements, books, clothing lines and appearances. Let’s take a look at the Kardashian’s ten most lucrative business ventures.




10. Khloe’ X-Factor Gig – $1,000,000



Khloe Kardashian reportedly pulled in a cool $1,000,000 for her co-hosting job on season two of the X-Factor, but she was X’d after one season. The singing competition show was Khloe’s first hosting gig and she was reportedly told not to be taking any hosting classes by the producers of the show. The reality star had a difficult time co-hosting the live show and it’s been reported that poor timing, on camera jitters and awkwardness was the reason the producers decided to let her go. Don’t cry for Khloe, because she’s strutting all the way to the bank.

9. Books – $Unknown


Back in November 2010, Kim, Kourtney and Khloe released their autobiographical book, Kardashian Konfidental. The book gave a sneak peak into the lives of the Kardashian girls and also included advice, beauty tips and photos of the sisters. The book hit the New York Time‘s Best Seller List and sold more than 100,000 copies in the first two months. In 2011, the Kardashian sisters released a second book titled, Dollhouse. Dollhouse is a fiction novel, but bares an extremely close resemblance to the their own lives. Dollhouse also hit the New York Time’s Best Seller list. In 2011, Kris Jenner released her memoir titled, Kris Jenner and All Things Kardashian. To no surprise, Jenner’s memoir also hit the New York Time’s Best Seller list. The amount of money made on these three books is unknown, but with three best sellers, clearly it’s a lot.

8. Kim Kardashian’s XXX Tape – $5 million




Kim Kardashian garned fame, publicity and a reality show after the “leak” of her sex tape with R&B singer, Ray-J in 2007. The infamous tape was originally filmed in 2003. After the tape was released everyone wanted to know who Kim Kardashian was. The tape gave Kim enough publicity to land the Kardashians their own reality show and allowed them to continue to build the Kardashian empire. Kim Kardashian filed a lawsuit against Vivid Entertainment, who distributed the tape as Kim K Superstar. The lawsuit was eventually dropped and they settled out of court for $5 million – Not bad for one rendezvous.


7. Photos – Over $7 Million


The Kardashians have surely made millions of dollars off of their photos. Kourtney Kardashian collected $300,000 for the exclusive photos of her first son, Mason. Khloe was paid $300,000 by OK! magazine for her wedding photos in 2009. Kim Kardashian was paid $100,000 by OK! Magazine for her bridal shower photos, $1.5 million for her wedding photos with Kris Humphries and $100,000 to pose for Playboy in 2007. Reportedly, Kourtney was paid in the low six figures by US Weekly for photos of her second child, Penelope. Kim Kardashian was recently on the cover of Vogue, but the amount paid has been not publicly disclosed. The Kardashians have graced hundreds of magazine covers, including Cosmopolitan, Shape, Glamour, Marie Claire, People, Life & Syle, Self, W and FHM. The exact number for the amount of money that has been earned by the Kardashian for photos and magazine covers is unknown, but it’s definitely in the millions.


6. Appearances – Over $10 Million


When you have a number one reality show, multiple best selling books and have been the on the cover of hundreds of magazines, people and companies are going to pay you to show up to places. The Kardashians earn staggering amounts of money just to show up to an event for a few hours. Rob Kardashian reportedly earns $20,000 for a public appearance. Khloe collects $75,000 for appearances, while older sister Kourtney collects $125,000. Kris Jenner demands $50,000 for appearances and Bruce Jenner expects $40,000, but Bruce will also give a motivational speech while he’s there. The bread winner, Kim, earns anywhere from $100,000 to $1,000,000 for appearances. It was reported that Kim Kardashian earned $900,000 for appearances from December 2012 – March 2013. One of those appearances was in Nigeria, which Kim earned $500,000 for attending a party for a mere 45 minutes. That’s about $185 a second.


5. Kim Kardashian’s Second Wedding – $18 million



Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries’ wedding in August 2011 was an extremely lucrative business venture. The couple earned $18 million from selling the exclusive photos to People magazine and for the televised E! Wedding Specials. On top of that, the couple received millions of dollars worth of freebies from sponsors, including a $2 million ring, three $20,000 Vera Wang dresses, $10,000 invitations, $400,000 worth of champagne, $750,000 worth of food, a $15,000 wedding cake and $2 million worth of floral arrangements. This doesn’t even include the wedding gifts the couple received from friends and family. For everybody else, weddings cost money, but if you’re a Kardashian, they make you money.


4. Endorsements – $Millions


The Kardashians are known for endorsing anything and everything. Some of their endorsements are extremely lucrative, while others end in lawsuits. The family is also paid to simply tweet 140 characters about a product. Kris reportedly earns $5000 per paid-for tweet, while Rob earns $8000. Khloe earns $13,000 for her endorsed tweets, while Kourtney earns $15,000. Kendall commands $5000 per tweet and younger sister Kylie earns $3000. Once again, Kim tops the wealth list earning a whopping $25,000 per paid-for-tweet. Since 2007, the Kardashian have endorsed OPI nail polish, QuickTrim, Midori, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Sketchers Sneakers, Bebe Jewelry, Muscle Flex VATA athletic gear, Carl’s Jr, Shoedazzle.com, Famous Cupcakes, Charmin Toilet Paper, Belle Noel Jewelry, Glamour Tan Self Tanning Gel, Fusion Beauty, PerfectSkin, Tria Laser Hair Removal System, PacSun, Zestra Essential Arousal Oils, Poise Panty Liners, Idol White, Nascar, Virgins, Saints and Angels, Sugary Factory Lollipops, Forever 21, PETA, Lipfusion, Prepaid MasterCard, Reebok Easy Tone, Khroma Beauty, Old Navy, Wheat Thins and Silly Bandz. Keep in mind, this isn’t even all of them.


3. Fragrances – $50 million

The Kardashians have also earned a pretty penny from their perfumes. Kim’s six perfumes, Gold, Signature, Glam, Love, True Reflection and Pure Honey and Khloe & Lamar’s two perfumes, Unbreakable Bond and Unbreakable Love have reportedly made $50 million. Although the Kardashian perfumes are not among the top selling celebrity fragrances, they still have brought in tens of millions of dollars.



2. Keeping Up With The Kardashians – $120 Million+


The reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is what the Kardashian family is best known for. It is the catalyst that propelled the family into fame and fortune. Season one of KUWTK aired in 2007 and was an instant hit. Since then, nine seasons have aired and the show has been renewed for three additional seasons. The Kardashians signed a contract for a recorded $40 million payout for the additional seasons. The family was reportedly paid $10 millions for each previous season, excluding the first season. There have also been multiple spinoffs including, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney & Kim Take New York and Khloe & Lamar. Seven seasons of spin-offs have aired and there are many more to come with the announcement of two new Kardashian spinoffs, Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons and Dash Dolls. The Kardashians also collect royalties from DVD sales and reruns of their shows.

1. Kardashian Kollection – $300 Million

The line consists of clothes, intimates, jewelry, handbags and other fashion accessories. Sales of $300 million for the Kardashian kollection were reported for the year 2012. Recently, reports claim the line is failing, but it is still being sold in Sears stores everywhere. Regardless, the clothing and accessory line has made hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and still continues to sell to this day.
