The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II of Kumasi- Ghana developing his kingdom!

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is expected on May 6, this year to cut the sod to convert the current Osei Tutu II Centre for Executive Education and Research (OTCEER) and the Ghana Brewery Limited (GBL) at Ahinsan in Kumasi into a university.
The University College of Medical Science is an attempt to address the doctor-patient ratio gap in the country.

If successful, OTCEER, formerly the Advanced Institute of ICT, which was established in 2002, would double as the main administration block while the brewery would be converted into lecture halls.
Nana Otuo Acheampong, Head of the School of Banking and Management at the centre, told the Daily Graphic the project was an initiative of the Manhyia Palace.
Nana Acheampong, who also doubles as the chairman of the Planning Board of the Ghana Banking Award, said there would be a public lecture on the eve of the sod cutting on ‘Contemporary issues in Banking.’
The lecture follows the Bank of Ghana directive on trading in foreign currencies in the country.
Nana Acheampong, the Adontenhene of Morse near Konongo and former publisher of Ghana Review Magazine, said Ashantehene’s move would further boost education in the country.
